The SENSE Coaching Framework

A holistic SEN coaching approach that sees your child beyond the diagnosis

Every child experiences the world differently. That’s why my SENSE Framework is designed to look beyond labels and truly understand your child as the unique individual they are.

Blending specialist SEN expertise with counselling-informed approaches, this bespoke coaching programme helps parents and carers better understand what may be happening beneath behaviours, emotions, and daily challenges — while creating practical, personalised support strategies that actually work for your family.

Rather than applying one-size-fits-all advice, the SENSE Framework focuses on your child’s strengths, needs, sensory profile, emotional wellbeing, and environment to help them feel safe, understood, and empowered to thrive.

What is the SENSE Framework?

The SENSE Framework is a five-step SEN support and parent coaching approach designed to help families better understand and support neurodivergent children, including those with:

  • Autism (ASD)

  • ADHD

  • AuDHD

  • Sensory processing differences

  • Anxiety and emotional regulation difficulties

  • School-based challenges

  • Behavioural concerns

  • Additional learning needs

Through collaborative coaching, practical strategies, and compassionate guidance, we work together to create meaningful changes that support both your child and your family life.

The 5 Steps of the SENSE Coaching Framework

S
See the Child

E
Educate to Empower

N
Navigate Together

S
Shape the Environment

E
Empower Every Win

  • We begin by truly seeing the whole child, not just a diagnosis, behaviour, or school report.

    Together we explore:

    • Your child’s strengths and interests

    • Their challenges and triggers

    • What helps them feel safe and regulated

    • Their personality, passions, and potential

Because every child deserves to feel understood for who they are, not simply defined by their difficulties.

  • Understanding your child changes everything.

I help you build the knowledge, confidence, and practical tools to better understand:

    • Neurodiversity and SEN needs

    • Emotional regulation

    • Behaviour as communication

    • Sensory processing

    • Nervous system responses

    • How your child experiences the world

When parents feel informed and supported, they are better able to advocate for their child with confidence.

  • You know your child best but you don’t have to navigate this journey alone.

    Together we look at:

    • What’s currently working

    • What feels difficult or overwhelming

    • Daily routines and family dynamics

    • School, home, and social challenges

    • Your child’s voice and experiences where appropriate

This is not about following textbook strategies. It’s about finding approaches that genuinely work for your child and your family.

  • Small changes can create big shifts.

Many children struggle not because they are “difficult,” but because their environment is overwhelming, dysregulating, or not meeting their needs.

Using your child’s sensory profile, we explore ways to:

    • Support nervous system regulation

    • Reduce overwhelm and anxiety

    • Create calmer routines

    • Adapt home and learning environments

    • Build spaces where your child can thrive

Practical, realistic changes often make the biggest difference.

  • Progress looks different for every child and every family.

We celebrate every step forward, whether that’s:

    • Better emotional regulation

    • Increased confidence

    • Reduced anxiety

    • Improved communication

    • More positive family dynamics

    • Small everyday wins that matter deeply

Because lasting change is built one supported step at a time.
